Over the past several months, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board has discussed trash and restroom facilities at McCormick Park. Following the Memorial Day and Fourth of July weekends, concerns were raised about park visitors leaving trash along the banks of the Yellow Breeches and using areas on private properties along McCormick Road as restrooms.
In response to these discussions, research was conducted into McCormick Park and its history, including a review of the 2016 Parks, Recreation and Open Space Plan available on the Township’s website. A summary was then prepared outlining the recommendations developed and adopted in 2016 by parks and recreation professionals, the steering committee, and the Board of Commissioners.
The plan’s 10-year period concludes this year, providing an appropriate opportunity to review the progress Upper Allen Township has made and consider the work that remains.
